In addition to our mission of providing quality veterinary care, we feel that we have a responsibility to give back to our community, making it a better place to live.
We are members of the Butte Silver Bow Chamber of Commerce, Butte Local Development Corporation, Digger Athletic Association, BHS Athletic Council and Butte Central Athletic Association.
Our Doctors and Staff volunteer their time to participate in community Career Days, Expanding Your Horizons, 4-H programs and classroom presentations.
The Amherst Animal Hospital has sponsored the Cat/Grizz Blood Drive Challenge since it began in 2005. Our staff is given paid time off to donate blood for this worthwhile cause. Additionally, at Christmas time we adopt a local family in need. We provide numerous gifts for all of the children, a Christmas dinner, and routine pet services if they have a family pet.
Our hospital offers tours for pre-school and school groups. We provide job-shadowing opportunities for students 16 and older considering a career in veterinary medicine.
Amherst Animal Hospital appreciates the crucial animal welfare services provided by the Butte-Silverbow Animal Shelter and Albert’s Angel Fund. We work closely with both organizations to provide quality veterinary care to animals in need 24 hours/day. In support of their efforts, we frequently discount professional fees.
Amherst Animal Hospital’s Tails on Trails is a fundraising dog walk held annually in the spring the Saturday before National Pet Week begins. The event is hosted and coordinated by the staff at Amherst Animal Hospital. 100% of the entry fee is donated to Albert’s Angel Fund.
The purpose of the walk is to give the community a fun way to get out and have fun showing off their dogs, and to raise money and awareness of Albert’s Angel Fund.
Albert’s Angel Fund is a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The fund gives adoptable Butte animals a chance at a happy and healthy live by providing them with life saving, life changing medical care.
To date, over $25,000.00 from the Tails on Trails Dog Walk has been donated to Albert’s Angel Fund.
